Minutes for Monroe County Green Party General meeting

Introductions were made
Approval of minutes:Yes
Approval of agenda:Yes

Treasurers report: In Absentia;The bank balance was at $510.as of
last week. :
Plus, $14 cash from farmers market donations.
Secretaries report; we have twelve new supporting members bringing
the total to 462 supporting and 52 full members

Coordinator Reports
Canvassing; Chris discussed weekend canvassing and will email exact
dates.
Ecological Wisdom: Julie suggested water quality as a good topic for
a forum and will provide more ideas.
Grassroots Democracy: Chris suggested Instant Runoff Voting as a good
topic for the next forum. Heather advised contacting Stacy Ream at
the League of Women Voters for a possible speaker.

Fourth of July: The MCGP had between 20 and 25 marchers in the Fourth
of July Parade. The MCGP was rated the sixth most interesting group
in the parade.
Shadow Government: Heather reported that the budget `season' is
beginning .The city council meetings will be very informative and
should be attended by Green party members.

Old Business
We still need a Green Party Liaison
Jeff Melton Campaign: Jeff stressed letter writing to the Herald
Times as the best way to get the word out about his candidacy. A fund
raising dinner is still in the planning stages. He will be ordering
more Tee shirts
Julie Roberts Campaign: Julie has turned in to the Registrars office
the required signed petitions. She still has a lot of Tee shirts.
Farmers Market: Jeff volunteered for July 20.The following Saturday,
August 27,is the IGP meeting and there will be no tabling at the
market. Julie volunteered for August 3.
New Bussiness:
Preliminary plans were discussed for a Planning Retreat on September
28,2002.
Possible locations were discussed.

Julie committed to facilitating the August 6 meeting.
